90 Day Reporting And The New Thailand Privilege (Elite) Visa?

Transcript of the above video:

The Thailand Elite Visa, now what is being called apparently the Thailand Privilege Visa, again bear with me here while this terminology changes, while we are in the state of flux. Hopefully this will all shake out and I will know what to call these things moving forward. But yeah apparently it's not going to be called Thailand Elite anymore, it's going to be called like Thailand Privilege, well bear with me we will deal with it, but what was called Thailand Elite is going through a major change.

I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Pattaya Mail, that is pattayamail.com, the article is titled: Brand new Elite privilege card options begin soon. I am going to quote a small excerpt from this article. I urge those who are watching this video, go check out that article in detail. Quoting directly: "Some services formerly free, such as assistance with 90 days reporting and use of airport lounges, will now be charged under points redemption." So in the past as we have discussed, Elite Visa did not get folks out of the requirement to deal with 90-day reporting but depending on where one lived, most notably if you lived in Bangkok, it was possible to avail oneself of the concierge services provided by Thailand Elite to deal with one's 90-day reporting. That is now falling by the wayside and it looks like 90-day reporting will be some sort of paid service but it will sort of operate within this kind of point system which I don't fully understand what this “point system” is going to entail moving forward and we will try to keep folks updated on that as things evolve and I get some further information there. But I think it's noteworthy that whereas in the past, yes it was still required to deal with 90-day reporting, there was some facilitation of that on the part of Thailand Elite staff and Thailand Elite's infrastructure. It now appears, that No there will be some sort of remuneration, some sort of charge associated with dealing with 90-day reporting in the context of a Thailand Elite or what is now going to be called the Thailand Privilege Visa that 90-day reporting is not just sort of an automatic service provided by that institution, that 90-day reporting you will have to pay in terms of these points to get your 90-day report sorted on a quarterly basis especially if you are remaining in Thailand for a prolonged period of time, if you are remaining in Thailand longer than 90 days and thereby need an address report filed.

So again, we will certainly keep you updated on this channel as this situation evolves.
