Is 50 Too Old for Thai Retirement Visas?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Retirement Visas here in Thailand. And frankly this video, well I made an initial video where I asked “was 50 too young for a Thai Retirement Visa?” Now we are making this video and it is because I got some responses. Again these are from commenters on prior videos, quoting directly: "A huge amount of people retire in their 50s like I did. 50 years old is too old these days." Well I don't know, I really don't know the answer to that. I don't think that the age cut off is going to change. I think 50 is probably going to be the Retirement Visa age from now until evermore. There are other Visa options available for those who are under 50 as we have noted in other videos; things like Business Visas if you are looking to work in Thailand. Then there are visas like the Thailand Elite Visa, which you can essentially for lack of a better term sort of 'buy' long term status here in Thailand via that route.

So again is 50 too old? I can see arguments especially in the sort of tech era where there are people that can retire younger than 50, and look, former military personnel or Government personnel, as we have discussed in other videos, could retire in under 50, and have a pension and things, and could come out to Thailand and be retired; they are just not 50 yet. That being said, I don't really see the age cut off, again to reiterate, I don't see the 50 year old age cut off associated with Thai Retirement Visas changing anytime soon.
