As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing well changes to the Thailand Elite Visa yet again, most notably the 20-year Thailand Elite Visa. 

So, as we have discussed in other videos on this channel, it is possible, there are some categories that are very, very affordable. Most notably as of now as of the time of this video, so sitting here prior to September 15th, 2023 it has been possible to get a 20-year visa for as low as a million Baht; it has been possible to get into the Thailand Visa, the 20 year category for as little as a million Baht. Now a lot of the perks and things aren't included with that and as we have discussed in other videos, you really need to kind of figure out which category is best for you. That said, the old categories are being phased out this month and we are seeing new ones brought online.

I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Bangkok Post, that is bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: Elite Card price to be increased by 50%. Quoting directly: "The price of the most expensive new membership called Reserve will be raised to 5 million Baht surging 150% from 2 million Baht for the existing top tier membership with a Visa length of 20 years." So again yeah that was for the top tier membership to this point but there was a 1 million Baht option so you could argue it has even been raised, the Visa cost has gone up substantially even over 150% which was an increase from 2 to 5 million because you could argue it has gone up fivefold because it went from a million to 5 million after the September 15th deadline. 

So this is a substantial change in terms of costs associated with what we have been referring to as the Thailand Visa which apparently moving forward is going to be referred to as the Thailand Privilege visa and the costs associated with it are going up substantially.
