Is There a US Visa Call Center in Thailand?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the notion of a Visa Call Center. We are specifically discussing this in the context of an American Immigration Call Center for obtaining visas from Thailand to the United States.

I have actually had a couple of calls and emails this past couple of weeks. It is the reason I decided to make this video and the reason for a series of videos behind it. The notion is more at issue in this video and I just want to explain what is going on with this. So people have contacted me and said "Is there some way to contact directly the Embassy or the US Government if you will that is operating here in Thailand on specific issues related to US Immigration from Thailand?" and the short answer to that is "no!" Yes, there are some ways to call into various parts of the apparatus that deal with United States Immigration;  specifically if you have an actual ongoing case, but the notion of being able to call in to the Government and basically obtain specific legal advice about one's Immigration situation or one's options for obtaining a Visa, that is really not their function and in fact I have actually seen live, folks at the US Embassy at the Visa section as well as the old Bangkok USCIS when that was here in Bangkok, I have seen officers actually tell people "Look, we are not allowed to give advice. That is not our function." and that is correct. They are not allowed to give advice. They may be adjudicating a case, they may be doing intake on a case, they may need further documentation in order to continue to adjudicate a case, but their function is not to provide advice or to particularly provide a lot of legal insight about one's specific situation.

So the thing to take away from this video is "No, there is not a Visa Call Center in Thailand." I suggest those who are interested in such facilities contact a legal professional. We are always happy to talk to folks about their Immigration situation, try to provide as much clarity regarding about their situation is possible but as far as sort of an official government organ related to US Immigration from Thailand that simply doesn't exist.
