As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Thai Gold. I haven't made a video on Thai Gold a lot. I find Thai Gold rather interesting; it's uniquely Thai; it has its own weight and measure, the Baht weight as we have discussed in other videos. We get into the Baht weight in other videos on this channel. 

Yeah Thai Gold, an interesting thing. It was going up quite a bit. We have noticed it has kind of dropped off in terms of price in the last couple of, well about the last week or so and I think that is apparently indicative of activity in the greater International market but it is interesting because Thai Gold does not operate, it is not connected directly if you will to the overall global economy and Gold or otherwise. It is very much a function of what's going on in Thailand so I would think it is rather a good sign that Thai Gold, the price is going down in Thailand. That would seem to suggest at least for now there is something of an abatement with respect to inflation one would think. So definitely good to see. It has been interesting watching Thai Gold over the years. Again a very different thing from the international standard weight and measure of Gold, the so-called 99.99; it is just a slightly different, it's 96.5 as far as purity but it's just a different way to measure; Thai Gold is just its own thing. The other interesting thing with Thai Gold is fungibility. If you go to a Thai Gold shop you can buy Thai Gold with cash, you can sell Thai Gold all right there, all right there on the spot, unlike other jurisdictions where that is not as easily done. Thailand is definitely open to that and frankly I think it is one of the major pillars of why Thailand has such a robust economy quite frankly. 

So interesting stuff. Thai Gold, the price is going down the moment although this is after sort of a long run that we have seen over the past, basically the whole of this year going into last year things have been ticking upward in Gold. We are starting to see things go down a little bit. I am sure things will change, they always seem to. “The only constant is change” as they say, so we will certainly keep you updated on this topic on this channel as the situation evolves.
