Issues Buying a Condo from Outside Thailand

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests we are discussing the possibility of being able to buy a Thai Condo for those who are not physically present in Thailand. We have done another video on this channel regarding this and many other videos regarding condos generally. I thought I would do kind of a follow-up on this one because one of the major issues that seems to come up regards certification of documentation especially certification of signatures. This can especially be a major issue with respect to Powers of Attorney as if you want to deal with buying a condo remotely a Power of Attorney will very likely, and I can't see a set of circumstances where this won't be the case, but a Power of Attorney will very likely be required in order to perfect that type of transaction.

So the thing to understand about this is if you are dealing with this remotely, I definitely think you are going to need a Thai Attorney. Let me be clear, I am an American Attorney; I am the Managing Director of our firm; I am a Thai citizen, I am not a Thai Attorney; we have Thai Attorneys here at the firm who assist folks directly in such transactions. Yeah there is a lot of formalities associated with getting a condo purchase perfected for a foreign national who is overseas not least of which there are banking concerns which have to be met. So it may not be a terrible idea to contact a legal professional, gain some insight and guidance into how best to proceed.
