As the title of this video suggests, we are talking about no one's favourite subject, taxes. We are talking about it a lot of people’s favourite subject at least here recently, Cryptocurrency.

A recent article from the Bangkok Post, bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: Revenue Department to finalize crypto tax details this month. Quoting directly: "Clear criteria for calculating withholding tax on profits from cryptocurrency and digital asset trading are expected to be finalized this month the Revenue Department Director-General said on Monday”. Quoting further: "Ekniti Nitithanprapas said Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha had instructed the Department to brainstorm with all parties in clarifying the issue for investors and the public in general." 

I am sure that no one is thrilled to be seeing a tax regime come down. That stated, there is something to be said for a certain level of uniformity, transparency and certainty when you are dealing with financial matters in any given jurisdiction. So on that level, to be able to understand exactly where you stand rather than the murky situation now, for some folks that may be something of a boon. Meanwhile yeah we have already got some tax issues that are already associated with cryptocurrency especially if they are sort of bought and sold within Thailand. Now that said, the overall situation is kind of in a state of flux. We will certainly keep you updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
