"Reason to Be Confident" That Thailand's Reopening?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing “reason to be confident that Thailand is reopening”. The reason I am becoming somewhat guardedly optimistic, especially as I have been burned a lot since 2020, especially in speculating about a possible reopening but in reading a recent article from the Thai Examiner, that is thaiexaminer.com, the article is titled: PM orders a re-evaluation of the balance between public health and economy as Omicron fears ease

There is a lot going on in this article. I urge folks go check it out. The Thai Examiner gets really in depth; there is a lot of content in their stuff and I am just going to quote a couple of excerpts here. Quoting directly: "There are signals that the doors to foreign tourism may be re-opened again in the coming weeks if not then in the second quarter as the Kingdom rolls out its Foreign Tourism platform for 2022." Then it goes on; one of the subheadings within this article is: "Reason to be confident says Minister Anutin," (and for those who are unaware that is Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul). Quoting further: "Mr. Anutin said "In light of the positive trend, the Public Health Ministry will ask the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) to ease as many containment measures as possible, quickly."

So a lot going on here. A lot of, it sounds like good things. I hope we are moving with a positive momentum for getting Thailand re-opened, hopefully starting to claw back that 20% of GDP we have been missing the last two years and getting the Kingdom back to the place we all know and love and getting it back to a situation where we can all move on with our lives and deal with business and hopefully see the tourism sector revive. Just generally speaking, hopefully sooner rather than later happy days will be here again.
