Lockdowns "Very Unlikely To Be Re-Imposed"

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the topic: "Lockdowns very unlikely to be re-imposed" and why is that in quotation marks?

Well a recent article from the Bangkok Post that is bangkokpost.com, Shift to ‘endemic’ forecast within 4 months. Quoting directly, this is bangkokpost.com, I will go ahead and cite the quote: "Officials said lockdown measures are very unlikely to be re-imposed despite the surge in infections." And they quoted a fair amount of folks in this article. I urge those who are watching this video to go and check out that article, get this stuff in detail so you can understand even more of the context. But they say officials, they cited for example, although they are not quoting that person, the Permanent Secretary for Public Health is cited in the article but at the end of the day they say "Official said lockdown measures are very unlikely to be re-imposed despite the surge in infections".

I have got to say that is good news as far as I am concerned because I frankly and I have noted this many times on this channel, I fail to see any data that suggests that they have done much of any good. There is definitely data suggesting that they have had a substantially negative impact on the economy here in Thailand but overall like I haven't really seen any data. I am perfectly willing to stand corrected. Put something in the comments if you know of something which show this has had a substantially beneficial impact overall. But yeah I think overall this is good news. It looks like we are moving forward in the world of Omicron it is not this fear and hysteria basically, for lack of a better term. So hopefully we can get fully back to business, back to the way things ought to be in the upcoming weeks rather than months.
