If Thai Digital Money Is Such a Great Idea, Let's Pay Thai Government Salaries in Digital Money?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Digital Money yet again here in Thailand.

Now a friend of mine, we were kind of talking about the Digital Money thing, they probably brought up a really good point. They said "hey, if Digital Money is so great, why don't we pay all the government salaries in digital money?" Yeah, I am serious about this - they have been pushing this on - I should say the "Core Coalition Party" has been trying to push this on us for nearly two years now. And my question is, okay if this is such a great thing, why don't the government put themselves on salaries where they are paid out in something that isn't cash, it is some sort of digital token. It cannot be spent anywhere; it cannot be spent on anything you want; it is not private, it will be tracked and traced in all ways that count, and it has a timing component, so that your "money" can be turned off after a certain period of time, or they can turn it on and off at will depending on your purchasing history. If you are purchasing things that are considered illicit or not positive or just negative - and understand this isn't necessarily political or something of this nature - they could one day just decide hey you shouldn't eat so much sugar, we are going to turn off your money and tell you to stop buying sugar. If you think that's crazy, go back and look at COVID okay. That isn't crazy, that's totally within the realm of possibility. That's why they want to roll out Digital Money.

So I say again, if you want to roll out Digital Money here in Thailand, why don't we start by paying all the Government employees exclusively in Digital Money and then we'll go from there.
