Extension of Closing Hours to 2am in Thailand?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing extension of closing hours in Thailand to 2:00 a.m. I have read differing reports on this so take this with a grain of salt. I am going to file this under "I'll believe what I see come July 1."

I got to think of making this video after reading a recent article from the Thai Examiner, that is thaiexaminer.com, the article is titled: Boomtime with Thailand Pass gone by July 1st along with 2 am closing and face mask easing in public. Quoting directly: "Extension of green zone status to all 77 provinces including Bangkok with a 2am nightlife closing time. This includes the extension of green zone status to all of Thailand's provinces meaning The Nightlife industry can return to a 2am closing time with a promise of further easing being announced in due course as part of the country's new goal of returning to normality as a priority. The effective date for these new easing measures will be Friday July 1st exactly one year since the Phuket Sandbox first reopened the country's doors to foreign tourism from abroad." Yeah, interesting.

It is my understanding, I thought it was supposed to be continued to be midnight even through July 1st but Thai Examiner, I have found them to be quite a good source of information over the years, so I am going to file this under, for myself, at least in my own brain, I'm going to file this under, "Let's see what happens come July 1" and we will have a better idea what is going on there. I will say in other publications I have read, this has kind of been talking about vaguely by things like the CCSA. They have sort of said well we are going to have to study this; we are still talking about it; there are various parties that have to kind of chime in on this, so the presumption seemed to be that midnight was going to continue to be the closing time. But again, there is a lot of vagueness out there and I am not going to say 'go out on a limb' but I would say I found that the Thai Examiner has a lot of good information, I tip my head to those folks. So I am going to kind of defer to them on this from this article but stating to the viewer and just for my own benefit, this is going to be something I am going to kind of take a 'wait and see' approach on and just see what actually comes to pass on July 1, 2022.
