As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing a crypto mining boom here in Thailand. This came to my attention here in a recent article from Al Jazeera, that is aljazeera.com, the article is titled: Chinese crypto crackdown sparks Thai crypto mining boom. Quoting directly: "The moment China banned Crypto, we were ecstatic, one bitcoin enthusiast turned miner, who runs a small solar-powered processor from his garage in eastern Thailand, told Al Jazeera. For an initial outlay of about 1 million Baht ($30,000), he got a rig up and running. I made it all back in 3 months said the minor who asked to remain anonymous." There is a lot going on in this article. The reason I sort of decided to make this, we have discussed crypto at length in prior videos on this channel. We have discussed the fact that there are various licensing mechanisms and protocols that have been brought online relatively recently, just the past few years, with respect to cryptocurrencies including but not limited to things like bitcoin, ethereum etc. Yeah, I definitely think in many ways Thailand probably will be especially in this region, at the forefront of a lot of activity in the crypto space. 

Now exactly what that means remains to be seen but I definitely think and I have seen just from my interaction from folks that have come through Thailand, clients and otherwise that are very active in some cases in the crypto world, this could end up being a major industry in Thailand and it could be something that we could see become a substantial portion of GDP. Now again, no one knows what the future holds but it will be interesting to watch and we will certainly keep you updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
