Could We See a "Normal" Thailand Soon?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing whether we could be seeing a "normal" Thailand soon. By "normal" I mean quarter 1 of 2020, pre March 2020 the promulgation of the Emergency Decree and all the pandemonium that we have dealt with since then.

There is some I think, light at the end of this unfortunately far longer than anybody ever anticipated tunnel. In a recent article from the Bangkok Post, that is bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: Ministry to propose relaxation of virus curbs. Quoting directly: "The Public Health Ministry is preparing to propose a relaxation of measures to the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) this week, to encourage people to live with the Coronavirus as opposed to imposing lockdowns during outbreaks." That would be fantastic. Quoting further: "Dr. Opas Karnkawinpong, Director General of the Ministry’s Department of Disease Control, DDC,” (that is kind of the counterpart if you will, counterpart or analogous to the CDC in the United States), quoting further: "would not go into detail about the measures to be eased. However he said Thailand was moving in line with trends elsewhere."

We discussed this in other videos. It looks like there is serious momentum behind the notion of lockdowns just coming to an end completely. They have talked about considering this endemic, moving on with our lives and basically going back to the status quo ante COVID, so back to what we were dealing with quarter 1 of 2022 which is hopefully some level of normality at the end of all of this. Now exactly how this plays out, the timing of all this remains to be seen. We will certainly keep you updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
