Will Thailand's Reopening Stimulate the Property Market?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are posing the question: “would Thailand's reopening stimulate the property market/”. I got to thinking about this from reading a recent article from the South China Morning Post, that is scmp.com. It is notable, the South China Morning Post editorial board it is my understanding has changed substantially over the past roughly one year so those who are watching this video might first want to check out this article and then kind of understand, maybe do a little research of your own to understand maybe the perspective coming off of this this article but quoting directly: Reopening of Thailand borders to International tourists might help developers dispose of unsold Bangkok flats analysts say

Quoting directly from some bullet points here:

  • “Foreigners typically account for about 10% of all home transactions in Thailand. Quoting further: “The full reopening of Thailand's borders to foreigners is likely to help the struggling Bangkok flats market, analyst said. Thailand began allowing in fully and partially vaccinated for the February 1 and proposed a “travel bubble” with China, which analysts said would help developers sell their inventory. China along with Malaysia was among the two largest sources of foreign tourists in Thailand before the Coronavirus pandemic and jointly accounting for a third of the 40 million International visitors coming to Thailand in 2019."

So the Chinese market has always been substantial. Setting that aside, I think more to the point is simply reopening Thailand is probably going to be good for the Property Market. There just simply haven't been any, not any, but presumably foreigners come to Thailand they look the Property Market that creates possibly an inflow of possible new prospective buyers. I mean it just stands to reason.

So yeah, I think ultimately if Thailand can get reopened, it will not only auger well for the Travel and Tourism Industry but the Property Market as well.
