Bank Account Issues With Thai Condo Transfer?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Bank Accounts and transfers associated with condo conveyancing; that is title deed transfer of a Thai condo here in Thailand.

For those who are unaware, foreign nationals notwithstanding the restrictions on foreign ownership of Thai land, real estate, property, it is possible for a foreign national to own a condominium in Thailand in what we call freehold title referred to in the Thai vernacular as Chanote title, or if you are looking at it from an American common law standpoint, this is basically fee simple absolute. This is a title deed, this is your title to your property. This title can be transferred even to a foreigner but there are certain formalities associated therewith most notably the funds have to come in from abroad and it has to be certified that said funds came in from abroad. This has major ramifications for foreigners because banking becomes an integral part of the process of transferring title to a condo.

So those looking to buy a condo here in Thailand, there may be solutions if you don't have a bank account. It may not be a terrible idea to contact a legal professional and gain some insight and guidance into how best to proceed.
