Could All Foreigners Really be Kicked out of Thailand?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the notion that Farang or foreigners could be kicked out of Thailand.

This is coming up in the context of a recent I think misstep or gaff if you will in terms of comments made to reporters regarding the issue. It seemed to be surrounding masks associated with the Coronavirus or the threat of the Coronavirus here in Thailand that one of the Ministers here basically had said "well if foreigners or farang if you will, and I am paraphrasing, if they don't want to wear masks we should kick them all out". Basically the gist of what I understood the quote to be. I was reading it in an article earlier. I am not going to specifically quote nor am I specifically going to get into the details of that. I urge those watching this video to go ahead and Google the incident; it is fairly easy to find.

I would hope people understand that that was probably being used euphemistically or metaphorically; it wasn't really being used literally. I don't think that individual was saying "oh, let's kick them all out." I don't even think that that person believed it would be even possible to do that. Now barring some major turn of events and I mean like things that could be described as force majeure like catastrophe or an act of war kind of stuff, I don't think that there is any way that you would see all foreigners being kicked out of Thailand. I just simply don't think that is a realistic thing to presume could happen.  That being stated, those who are in Thailand in lawful status in order to for example we made videos on this rescind or revoke ones Visa status, there is due process associated with that. There is an appeal process. I have made another video specifically on that topic previously. It is something to keep in mind. That is not a real likely thing to happen, all foreigners being kicked out of Thailand. I just don't see that being something that we are going to see happen anytime soon.

So the thing to take away from this video is it possible I guess theoretically. As a practical matter I would say it is fairly safe to walk around 99.9% certain that there will not be a blanket ban on all foreigners in the Kingdom of Thailand.
