"Big Joke" Goes International?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Deputy National Police Chief Surachate "Big Joke" Hakparn who has kind of been someone we have ended up following kind of inadvertently, because he was the Head of Thai Immigration and then after that he had quite a colourful career to this point and he keeps making headlines, so we sort of keep tabs on him from time to time. I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Bangkok Post, that is bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: Surachate heading to Cambodia in family scam-deaths case. Quoting directly: "Deputy National Police Chief Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn will go to Cambodia." Quoting further: "Pol Gen Surachate said police had seized bank accounts, cash and ATM cards of those involved with the scam." - as noted in the headline. I urge those who are watching this video, go check out that article in detail, a lot of info in there. Quoting further: "He would go to Cambodia on Thursday to coordinate with Cambodian police hunting down the scammers. Quote: "The murder case traumatized people and drew media attention and in particular the cause of the tragedy which is linked to deaths from being tricked by scammers" the Deputy National Police Chief said." So yeah, again as we have noted in many other videos "Big Joke" seems to take Law Enforcement pretty darned seriously. He has kind of been at the forefront of a number of high profile cases here recently and this appears to be another one.

That said as noted in the title of this video, this case is taking him outside of Thailand at least for the moment. So interesting to see that this Law Enforcement endeavour has sort of an international aspect to it and exactly how it plays out remains to be seen. But it should be noted that yeah, Thailand takes especially these sort of international call scams and things of this nature, quite seriously. In the past, Thailand had a real problem, or at least I should say Thai law enforcement seem to have a bit of a problem sort of keeping tabs on this stuff and getting sort of ahead of the curve if you will on how to grapple with the law enforcement aspects of this. It appears at least as of the time of this video, there is some proactive work being undertaken with respect to this and we will certainly keep you updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
