Corporate Addresses and VAT Registration in Thailand

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the topic of Corporate addresses. That is legal corporate domiciles as well as VAT, that is Value Added Tax registration here in the Kingdom of Thailand. We are specifically discussing this because a lot of people don't understand these are requirements that ultimately are associated with Business Visa and Work Permit issuance. So things like a VAT certificate as well as a compliant corporate address are part and parcel of being able to go ahead and apply for a Work Permit here in Thailand and ultimately Business Visas and Business Visa extensions. So as much as this is information that most people really aren't really all that interested in, it is rather pertinent because it goes directly to issues associated with maintaining one's status here. So we do make videos from time to time on these more mundane topics of Thai Corporate and Tax Law. VAT, what is that? That is Value Added Tax. It is certification. It is like General Sales Tax in some countries or some countries just have a straight VAT system.

So the thing to take away from this video is Thai Corporate Addresses, not all one could domicile a Company will necessarily be considered suitable for VAT Certification. It is for this reason, it may be a good idea to contact a legal professional who has dealt with a fair number of corporate matters, corporate compliance as well as tax compliance in Thailand in order to understand all the rules associated with not only incorporation of a Company but also documentation associated with VAT Certification and registration because again these can prove to be prerequisites to go ahead and obtain a Business Visa and a Work Permit presumably although not necessarily for the self-employed here in Thailand or any Company that wishes to employ foreigners here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
